Nieve Ella Interview: "Just let it all out and don't be scared"

Not many of us emerge unscathed from the tumultuous growing pains of teenagedom. Navigating the surrounding world while trying to figure out who you are and find your place in the world is frankly, pretty traumatic, and yet, so much of the teenage experience is universal. Since debuting just last year, Nieve has bottled all of that angst into two EPs, ‘Young & Naive’ and ‘Lifetime of Wanting’; gut-punching indie confessionals teeming with anthemic hooks and relatable storylines that speak to our memories of youth.

Live Report: SOFY - The Grace, London | Live

It might seem unexpected to come across Timothée Chalamet in an intimate North London venue on a Tuesday night, but not at a SOFY gig. Here, he’s more of a regular than that old bloke down your local pub. Well, the cardboard version of him is, anyway…

Such is SOFY’s love for the movie star that she not only dedicated an innuendo-laden tune to him on her latest EP, ‘Chaos & Commotion’, but a lifesize cardboard cutout of Mr Chalamet also attends all of her gigs, posing next to the merch stand as

Berlin-Based Georgian Artist Creams Talks Latest Project ‘Pie’

Experimental and unpinnable, Creams is constantly surprising. The Berlin-based Georgian artist’s esoteric, genre-less approach has cemented her status in the underground music scene for several years now. Creams’ latest independent project, ‘PIE’, released in September, exudes a dark, playful energy across its four experimental tracks. The off-kilter beats intertwine with assertive vocals throughout to give a commanding punk attitude to the record.

Kelsy Karter & The Heroines

This is a band that shows what it really means to be rock ‘n’ roll today. That rock ‘n’ roll doesn’t have to be fast and hard, that it can be soft. That at its core, rock ‘n’ roll is about vulnerability; it’s about knowing who you are and not being afraid to lay your soul bare in the music. It’s about showing that you do care – not about the haters, but about the music, those you love and the ones that love you.

In fact, it is love that drives much of Kelsy Karter & The Heroines’ work.

A New Chapter: Madison Beer In Conversation

What struck me most when talking to global pop sensation, Madison Beer, was how considered she was with her answers; how diplomatic. Not that Madison’s graciousness should come as any surprise, but cynics might attribute this to effective media training. Personally, I think that does Madison a disservice. After years of having her words twisted, it would only be natural to protect herself and choose them carefully.

Out of envy, we often want to take down those who we deem as having ‘too much’.

The Importance of Networks and Communities for Emerging Creatives

Although skill, experience and passion are important, being part of a supportive network or community of fellow creatives can take an artist’s career to the next level. As well as providing learning and performance opportunities, networks and communities can help creatives to increase their public profile and visibility through collaborations and amplification.

In an industry that can sometimes feel lonely and overwhelming, finding like-minding individuals can provide emotional and mental support too.

Truly Shapeless: daine Interviewed | Print issue #125

“A clump of blonde hair and maybe Gollum’s body,” daine deadpans. That’s what defines ‘dainecore’, according to the artist themselves. Onstage, their long, white-blonde hair hangs down, obscuring their face. It’s become a running joke with their fans, who will tweet “a blonde wig in a stupid place,” in reference to the Australian artist. “Which is funny because I’m obviously not naturally blonde. I see people saying: ‘every video I get from a daine concert is just a fucking blob of blonde hair!’

"There's A Lot Of Layers" Lola Young Interviewed | Features

Her husky, soulful voice earned her a BRIT Rising Star nomination. John Lewis snapped her up to sing their Christmas advert. She’s only a few years into her musical career, but Lola Young has already had quite the impact.

Arriving in 2019, the South Londoner’s debut record ‘Intro’ led her to be namechecked against the likes of Amy Winehouse and early Adele. Finding her feet within the realms of R&B, Young reflected on love, mental health and inner-self, sharing her ‘Renaissance’ and ‘After Midn
